FRANCE'S EIFFEL TOWER MOVES TO LIBYA

ALBAWABA - A video recently shared across social media platforms took the internet by storm after several Libyans spotted a high-voltage electrical tower and resembled it to France's iconic Eiffel Tower.

Libyans took to social media platforms to jokingly poke fun at the matter and said "This does not happen in any country of the world except in Libya" and "This is the Eiffel Tower but the Libyan way".

The "Libyan Eiffel Tower" was located in the capital of Libya, Tripoli, and was seen erected in the middle of the street where cars could just pass underneath it.

The tower in the middle of the street caused the departure of a joint team from the Electricity Company and the Libyan police to uncover the reason it was set there in the first place. It being there violates Libya's traffic safety regulations and puts many citizens in danger.

According to the Libyan newspaper Al-Marsad, the people responsible for the incident have been dealt with and were "referred to the Public Prosecution".

The paper went on to add:

"A citizen who owns a residential subdivision in Ain Zara is the one who created a road under the tower in his subdivision, and we initiated procedures against him, as he was referred to the Public Prosecutor".
