AIRPORTS ON ALERT! GOA, JAIPUR, SEVERAL OTHERS RECEIVE BOMB THREAT; SECURITY HEIGHTENED

With India celebrating the biggest festival of democracy, two major airports in the country received bomb threats on Monday. On Monday, it was claimed through an e-mail that bombs had been planted at Jaipur and Goa airports. As soon as this news was received, there was panic in the administration.

A senior official said that an e-mail was received on Monday, April 29, 2024, in which it was claimed that bombs had been planted at several airports including Jaipur and Goa. As soon as this information was received, there was panic in the administration and the security forces were alerted. All airports are being thoroughly checked. Nothing suspicious has been found at Jaipur airport yet.

Jaipur Airport Bomb Threat

Security agencies jointly conducted a thorough investigation on Monday after a bomb threat was received at Jaipur Airport. Airport police station SHO Moti Lal said an email about a bomb threat was sent to the airport authorities by an unknown person. A thorough investigation of the airport was conducted but nothing suspicious was found. He said a similar threat was given on April 26 also. He said the investigation is underway to identify and trace the sender.

Goa Airport Bomb Threat

A senior official said a bomb was reported at Dabolim airport in South Goa. Airport director SVT Dhanmjay Rao said his office received an email in the morning about a bomb at the airport. Following the same, the security at the airport has been increased and the bomb squad is also present on the spot.

"We are taking extra precautions now. Security has been increased at the airport. A bomb disposal squad is also present at the airport. We are working as per the prescribed protocol. We are trying to trace the source of the email, which has also been received by other airports in the country," he said.
