RICHARD WILKINS, 70, AND HIS YOUNGER GIRLFRIEND MIA HAWKSWELL, 47, PUT ON A LOVED-UP DISPLAY AT SYDNEY AIRPORT... AS TODAY SHOW STAR IS NOTICEABLY ABSENT FROM NINE OLYMPIC REPORTING TEAM IN PARIS

Richard Wilkins and his celebrity makeup artist girlfriend Mia Hawkswell looked every inch the doting couple when they arrived at Sydney Airport on Friday.

The Channel Nine presenter, 70, and his younger partner, 47, were spotted walking hand-in-hand as they made their way through the arrivals lounge at the bustling terminal.

Richard, who does not appear to be part of the Today show team currently in Paris to cover the Olympics, rocked a smart casual look in an unbuttoned black jacket paired with jeans.

He completed his look with black dress shoes, stylish sunglasses and accessorised with a tan carry bag.

The New Zealand-born star added a touch of colour to his look with a patterned scarf.

His brunette hair was freshly styled, and he looked to be in good spirits as he lovingly gazed into his partner's eyes as they strolled through the busy airport.

Richard's beautiful partner Mia rocked a slick all-black look in a cutting-edge blazer paired with a silk top and miniskirt.

She completed the eye-popping look with linen stockings and futuristic-styled sunglasses.

The lovebirds look as though they didn't have a care in the world as they strolled with confidence and style through the bustling airport.

Meanwhile, Aussies haven't taken long to slam the Channel Nine coverage of the Paris Olympics, fuming at host Karl Stefanovic - if they were able to watch at all.

Thousands of Australians woke in the middle of the night to take in the opening of the Paris Games and had to wait hours for the Aussies to finally emerge because they are the 2032 host nation, with Olympic protocol dictating that they were the third-last nation to appear.

However, they were not impressed with Nine's treatment of the opening ceremony - and Stefanovic's commentary in particular.

They accused him of talking over important and entertaining parts of the ceremony with many taking to social media to call for him to be quiet.

The opening ceremony was also dulled by the miserable weather and rain that took the shine off the athletes' arrival.

But viewers didn't appreciate being reminded of that constantly through the broadcast.
